  1. Soak the barnyard millet in warm water for one hour.

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add dry spices, and allow them to crackle. 

  1. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell disappears. 

  1. Add vegetables and sauté for 3–4 minutes. 

  1. Add water and salt. Once it boils, add the soaked and drained millets. 

  1. Cook on a medium to low flame until the millets are soft and fully cooked. 

  1. Switch off the flame, let it rest for 7–8 minutes, and serve hot.
